Create a program that will run in Windows. The program prompt the the user for a number from 1 through 999999 and use that information to display a PDF file on the screen with a file name that directly relates to the user input and stored in a folder location that is based on formula. The program will need to be stand alone. Requirements for program: 1. Run in Windows 98 through windows XP 2. Should not consume processor power when idle. 3. No installation files, just copy the EXE and/or supporting file to local folder. Details description There are thousand of PDF files stored in location “F:\Scanned Lots\” that need to be looked at regularly. The computers are running Adobe Acrobat software for viewing the PDFs. Here are 3 examples of current file names. F:\Scanned Lots\Lot 16800 to 16899\Lot 16801.pdf F:\Scanned Lots\Lot 15200 to 15299\Lot 15218.pdf F:\Scanned Lots\Lot 0 to 9999\Lot 3400 to 3499\Lot 3402.pdf When a user inputs a lot number, for example “15218”, the program will open the file F:\Scanned Lots\Lot 15200 to 15299\Lot 15218.pdf in the same manner a windows shortcuts works, using the default PDF association. The program need to calculate the path where the file is stored based on rules that the user will create. Here is a set of current rules that would work. if Lot # >= 3500 and <=3599, then path = “F:\Scanned Lots\Lot 0 to 9999\Lot 3500 to 3599\” if Lot # >= 4800 and <=4899, then path = “F:\Scanned Lots\Lot 0 to 9999\Lot 4800 to 4899\” if Lot # >= 11200 and <=11299, then path = “F:\Scanned Lots\Lot 11200 to 11299\” File name will be equal to “Lot “ + the lot number prompted by the user. How the program should prompt the user. Once started, the program should be running all the time in the background. The user should have choices on how to view it. One option should be on the task bar like the google or yahoo search tools. Another should be as a small windows prompt that can be placed anywhere on the desktop, like any other program with the option of “always on top”. With minimize buttons. | I have 12 years Delphi exp. and have written many similar apps. VB and .NET are out if you want Win98 support and no installation requirements. Delphi can do this. 7 day is worst-case. Barring hicups should take no more than 3. | |||||
